Timberwolf Celebrates 40 Years of Success

Leading the Pack Since 1986

In 2026, Timberwolf proudly celebrates its 40th anniversary, marking four decades of engineering, innovation and supporting the arboriculture industry.

Founded in 1986, the business has grown from its origins as Entec Industries into one of the UK’s best-known names in commercial woodchippers. Over the last 40 years, Timberwolf has produced more than 20,000 machines, with products now operating throughout the UK and across international markets.

Throughout its history, the company has remained focused on developing practical, dependable equipment, supported by continuous product development and a commitment to customer service. While much has changed over four decades, Timberwolf’s purpose has remained the same: engineering machines that help arborists and contractors work safely, efficiently and productively.

“Reaching 40 years is something we’re incredibly proud of. It wouldn’t have happened without the hard work of our team and the loyalty of our customers, dealers, distributors and suppliers over the years. We’ve changed a lot since we started, but one thing hasn’t changed – we’re still focused on building tough, dependable machines that people can rely on, backed up by the support they deserve.” Chris Perry, Managing Director

40 Years of Engineering Excellence

Timberwolf’s engineering journey began in 1986 under the Entec Industries name with the launch of the Chippit – the company’s first commercially produced 6-inch gravity-fed woodchipper.

As the arboriculture industry evolved, so did Timberwolf’s product range. One of the company’s notable milestones came with the introduction of a commercially available sub-750kg 6-inch hydraulic-feed woodchipper, providing customers with a practical solution that combined performance with transportability.

Since then, Timberwolf has continued to evolve its range through ongoing engineering, product development and close collaboration with customers. Most recently, Timberwolf expanded its 8-inch product range with the introduction of the TW 280HBD and TW 280FTRD, reflecting the company’s continued commitment to developing products that meet the evolving needs of professional arborists.

“Engineering has always been at the heart of Timberwolf. Every generation of machine has been shaped by customer feedback, changing industry requirements and a commitment to continuous improvement. That approach continues to drive the development of our products today.” Javier Munoz, Engineering Manager

From UK Roots to a Global Pack

Although Timberwolf products are now supplied across international markets, the company’s roots remain firmly in Suffolk.

From its early years in the village of Cotton, Suffolk, Timberwolf continued to grow its engineering capability and product range before moving to its purpose-built headquarters in Stowmarket to support the next stage of the company’s development.

The Stowmarket facility has continued to expand alongside the business, providing the space and capability needed to support engineering, product development and increasing customer demand.

Having established a strong presence in the UK market, Timberwolf began exporting into Europe in 2008. Within five years, its machines were operating in 25 countries, laying the foundations for today’s international dealer and distributor network, which now spans more than five continents.

Today, Timberwolf works closely with its dealer and distributor partners to ensure customers have access to knowledgeable local support, parts and service wherever they operate.

“Our customers and dealer partners have been fundamental to Timberwolf’s success over the last 40 years. As we celebrate this milestone, we remain committed to developing products and providing the support that helps our customers and partners succeed.” Guy Marshlain, Sales and Marketing Director

Forty years is an important milestone, but it is only one chapter in the Timberwolf story

From the launch of the original Chippit in 1986 to today’s product range, Timberwolf has continued to evolve alongside the arboriculture industry, responding to changing customer needs through engineering, innovation and product development.

As Timberwolf celebrates this anniversary, the company would like to thank every employee, customer, dealer, distributor and supplier who has been part of its journey over the past four decades. Their continued trust, support and partnership have helped shape the business and provide the foundations for the next chapter in Timberwolf’s story.
